It's Independence Day in America. A day to celebrate our freedom from the rule of others that don't reside within our shores. A day to remember the sacrifices that those who gave their lives and blood to make such a freedom possible.
As I sit with my dog who is cowering at (and slightly under) my feet - she's terrified of fireworks - I'm looking out at the stars and landscape of my little area of this giant universe. The sounds of fireworks mingled with neighbors chatting hovers outside my balcony. I can only assume that this scene is honestly one that could occur for any national celebratory situation anywhere in the world.
Our world is not as huge as we think it is. That which occurs in one land or on one continent, ultimately has some form of effect on others. Whether it's tagged to global warming or the the stock market, we are all in this great adventure of life together.
There are some stupidly insane political issues happening in America right now. This blog is not about that. What I'm saying is, there is a common thread of humanity across the globe, and no matter what our skin color, or religious beliefs, or political leanings; working together towards a common goal of making this planet a positive place for our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren should be a priority. No matter what continent you're on, or what country you live in; when it comes right down to it, our priorities are similar.
Think on that.
